wow, finally got my computer back. albeit has no information, no programs, just an empty hard drive and the ability to go on the internet. yet it is back, yay, yay, yay
yes, and can you order a battery for me too I was told that my problem was due to an inappropriate shut down due to no batter back up. If i dont get a battery it could happen again.
Did you or they, ever try a recovery program. You could at least get back some of your files. If worked for me when my computer had to be started from scratch again. I was abled to get some of my photos and things like that.

Ouch on losing the data, I take it they couldn't repair the Boot Record? Or simply didn't care to try?
they did try, but couldn't repair the the boot drive in fact they never got it to boot. they couldn't even fdisk it.
